We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join an independent insurance group that operates across a number of different market sectors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review and agreement of policy wordings.
• Review and agreement of pricing proposals.
• Ensure adherence to Product Oversight & Governance Obligations.
• Maintenance and renewal of the groups Service Level / Delegated Authority Agreements.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting policies and guidelines.
• Monitor the performance of Outsourced Service Providers.
• Prepare Underwriting reports for submission and presentation at the business Underwriting Committee and Board meetings, as may be required.
• Attend Outsourced Service Provider led underwriting meetings and report outputs to the Underwriting Committee as may be required.
• Prepare and submit regulatory submissions, as may be required.
• Provide support across Claims, Complaints and Compliance as may be required.
• Maintain documents and files, both manually and electronically, to ensure the company complies with the regulatory environment as well as internal and external audit guidelines.
• Manage and organise own workload, diaries and mailboxes.
• Any other ad hoc / reasonable requests.
Essential skills and experience:
• Previous experience in a senior insurance role is required.
• Competence with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office systems.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise own workload and high levels of work.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written).
• Must be conscientious and able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of smaller core team.
• A flexible approach and an ability to recognise / adapt to changing business requirements.
• Desire to gain additional knowledge and new skills.
• Willingness to participate in occasional overseas travel, when required.
