We are looking on behalf of our client, a well established law firm in Gibraltar, for a Paralegal.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist fee earners with the management and progression of their caseload.
- Undertake legal research on a variety of matters.
- Assist fee earners to review and draft legal and transactional documents
- Assist fee earners to review incoming requests, queries, and instructions.
- Prepare routine correspondence and replies to queries on behalf of fee earners.
- Liaison with intermediaries on behalf of fee earners and clients.
- Attend meetings as required and produce orderly and comprehensive notes.
- Take instructions and conduct letter and telephone enquiries as necessary.
- Assist with the processing of new business applications for new and existing clients.
- Provide ongoing business support and assist with ad hoc projects
- Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts and professional conduct rules.
- Charge time spent daily and assist with the management of WIP, cash collection and debtors’ process.
Requirements:
- Sound intellectual skills evidenced by a strong academic background to degree level in Law or non-law degree plus post-graduate diploma in law.
- Successful completion of the Bar Training Course (BTC), Legal Practice Course (LPC), or Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) or to be currently undertaking one of these courses would be an advantage.
- Understanding of legal concepts and legal research, including relevant legislation, case law, and industry standards.
- Familiar and confidence with sources of legal information e.g. Practical Law, LexisNexis
