    Job Responsibilities

    • Devise and oversee the delivery of the company’s strategy, ensuring that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the company to meet its objectives and review performance
    • Accountable for the company and efficient capital management
    • Ensure effective audit and control of outsourced functions, with attention to the Claims & Underwriting functions
    • Chair of both the Large Loss committee and Rating & Analysis committee
    • Provide strong leadership of the company, within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed
    • Build strong relationships with the relevant regulatory bodies
    • Responsible for ensuring that the structure of the company and the skills and experience of employees most effectively supports the company’s strategic goals
    • Work with Procurement to ensure outsourced relationships remain appropriate and continuously review intra-group and related party agreements to ensure they’re fit for purpose
    • Act as the designated contact with external reinsurance brokers or reinsurers at an operational level
    • Maintain operational day-to-day management of reinsurance processing functions within the company and develop a robust operating model for reinsurance processing, including owning internal accountability with regards to risk, compliance and internal audit functions
    • Review and, where necessary, develop suitable procedure and process manuals to ensure procedures and controls are documented and regularly updated

    Knowledge & Experience

    • Significant experience within a similar role in the insurance industry
    • Demonstrable experience in strategic planning and stakeholder management
    • Managing strategic relationships with key suppliers and industry bodies
    • Strategic decision making
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Problem solving, with the ability to translate issues and find resolutions
    • Excellent understanding of motor insurance and reinsurance
