    Financial Accounting Manager for a local gaming company, reporting to the Head of Accounting.  The successful candidate will be responsible for management of the finance team and day to day operations. They will take a technical lead on financial accounting standards and best practice.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the day to day running of the finance department including but not restricted to accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and cashflow management. Approver for bank payments
    • Manage the month-end financial close process to ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met. Ensure that accurate books of account are kept in a timely manner, all manual accounting adjustments are entered, and relevant checks and reviews are in place to ensure integrity of data. Ensure all monthly reconciliations are completed and reviewed in accordance with internal timetable
    • Monthly production and review of individual entity and group consolidated balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements. Investigation and explanation of material variances to the Head of Accounting
    • Review current internal controls to ensure fitness for purpose. Implement robust processes that are flexible enough to support the growing needs of the organisation.
    • Facilitate the timely submission of external returns including but not limited to corporation tax, VAT, gaming duty, regulatory returns
    • Technical lead on interpretation and implementation of accounting standards, keeping up to date with new standards and interpretations and ensuring that they are consistently and appropriately applied to group accounting records. Formulating appropriate internal accounting policies
    • Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable Accounting Standards and other legislation
    • Key contributor to the audit process capable of managing the relationship with external auditors and leading the audit process
    • Implement and manage the Group debt collection policy
    • Demonstrate commercial awareness and provide relevant financial support to other departments in the group as required
    • Manage and develop team members
    • Coach team members to improve their outputs, skills and knowledge through an atmosphere of personal accountability and open and honest dialogue and feedback. Monitor employee performance and hold regular 1:1 sessions to coach and motivate team members
    • Deputise for the Head of Accounting as required

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Member of a professional accountancy body (ACA, ACCA)
    • Strong technical accounting abilities and sound working knowledge of current IFRSs
    • Experience of recruiting, managing and developing a team
    • Online gaming experience (desirable)
    • Audit background (desirable)
