    Unique opportunity for a high calibre and experienced Finance Director to join our highly successful and ever-expanding Gibraltar property business. The Company is a highly successful International Group with businesses spanning multiple sectors including property Investment and development – in the UK, USA, Germany, Holland and Spain as well as Gibraltar.

    You will be an experienced FD, analytical, commercial and strategic in thinking. This is a demanding and exciting role to financially manage the Gibraltar arm of The Group with interests in property development, property investment and hospitality

    The Role

    Covers the Gibraltar operation working with the group Chairman to help drive the business forward with minimum financial risk, sound financial analysis, strategic thinking and commercial acumen, as well as working with the finance team to drive efficiency and improvement, tight cost control and enhanced profitability. The FD will have experience of and play a key role in raising finance for complex property development programmes and longer term finance for growth.

    It includes but is not limited to;

    • Manage banking relationships and work with the Chairman in negotiating and arranging suitable finance and refinancing.
    • Liaising with advisors and ensure sound tax planning.
    • Being fully conversant with the legal side of financial funding agreements with the ability to interpret, understand and identify potential legal issues in finance related agreements and advise accordingly in the best interest of the business.
    • Preparation of a monthly, quarterly and annual reports at project and company level. For internal, Group and bank reporting, plus manage and control year end audit.
    • Enhance internal controls, processes and procedures for the tight financial control of development and other projects while leading and inspiring the finance team to provide relevant high-quality financial information and maintain strong collaborative relationships across the business.
    • Willing to be very hands-on and doing whatever is required to get the job done.
    • You will be able to demonstrate a history of delivering successfully at a senior level, be an experienced individual with the ability to learn and grasp complex issues quickly, deliver results and be someone who takes full ownership of and pride in financially managing the business and delivering accurate financial information.

    Candidate requirements:

    • A fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or equivalent
    • Analytical, commercial and strategic thinker with an inquisitive mindset. Experience of working in an entrepreneurial environment is a distinct advantage
    • Used to delivering high quality results in a changing environment and with competing priorities under time constraints
    • Experienced in raising finance and dealing with lawyers and senior bankers
    • Experienced in financially managing a property business
    • Imaginative, motivated, enthusiastic and organised – and an experienced manager of people
    • Driven by attention to detail and getting 100% accuracy
