    Job Information

    Audit Director required for a strong financial company based in Gibraltar. Salary £70,000 – £85,000 + benefits (depending on experience and expertise).

    Expertise Insurance and other financial services audit experience is essential.

    Audit duties:

    • Leading on audit reviews, agreeing audit timetables, briefing the audit team (including other specialists) and monitoring budgets
    • Reporting directly to the Audit Partners and keeping them up to date with progress throughout the course of the engagement
    • Taking ownership of portfolio of audit engagements and acting as key point of contact for clients throughout the year
    • Liaising with clients and managing client expectations
    • Attending client planning and audit close meetings
    • Solving complex technical challenges for our clients and technical support for the Firm
    • Completing audit processes and documenting higher-risk areas to increase your technical and business skills
    • Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior team members
    • Direct, train, support and mentor junior members of staff to assist them in the effective delivery and efficient completion of engagements

    Core competences:

    • Qualified and experienced (ACA/ACCA/Equivalent)
    • Extensive post-qualification experience in audit, including insurance and other financial services audits
    • Some business advisory experience
    • Computer literate
    • Presentable and motivated
    • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, both written and verbal
    • Excellent numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Dedication to high quality standards & detail oriented
    • Able to work in an organised and efficient manner
    • Dynamic
    • Commercial outlook when delivering advice
    • Find opportunities to develop new business

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Audit file review and preparation via an audit tool
    • Review and perform walkthroughs and test of controls amongst other audit tests
    • Resolve technical issues with clients and support Firm on technical matters
    • ISA experience
    • IFRS experience
    • FRS 102 and FRS 103 experience (not mandatory)
    • Insurance and other financial services audit experience
    • Sound knowledge of accounting information systems
    • Ability to manage a team and mentor junior team members
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Working with a range of clients advising on many different aspects of business advisory
