Portfolio & Investment Manager

Senior Discretionary Portfolio Manager + Investment Consultant (DPM/FSA), Gibraltar 

The DPM is the person responsible for the management of the bank’s local Premium discretionary mandates. The DPM will be responsible for advising on a portfolio of clients of the Bank as well as providing critical support to the Relationship Management team. The DPM shall seek to generate:

Optimal returns in relation to the client’s relevant risk-adjusted investment profile as defined in the suitability assessment.

When relevant, returns comparable to the Group’s performance. The DPM will report to the CEO.

Knowledge and Competency Requirements

The DPM shall meet the requirements as set out under ESMA guidelines for giving investment advice and for providing portfolio management services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Discretionary portfolios shall be managed in compliance with the client’s defined mandate, investment philosophy, the Bank’s Investment Committee decisions as well as local and international regulatory guidelines.
  • Support relationship managers in acquisitions efforts, client meetings and in portfolio /performance reporting tasks when necessary.
  • The DPM will provide investment ideas to delegated Advisory accounts and will actively sponsor the bank’s strategic and tactical recommendations Interact effectively with the wider FSA team to ensure specialist product solutions and idea generation is shared with the PB team
  • Pro-actively manage performance dashboard in order to improve financial performance and
    relevant key performance indicators
  • Maintain a strong compliant culture including the development, implementation and monitoring of risk analytics to ensure that assumed risks are in full compliance with the relevant suitability guidelines, investment restrictions, Regulators’ rules and regulations as well as recommendations from head office
  • Work closely as a team to plan and develop strategic and business initiatives. In particular, work closely with the Head of Private Banking and CEO in order to actively seek a better interaction with Gibraltar’s business community, introducers and decision makers in general so as to create/reinforce the relationship of the clientele/business community with the bank.
  • Provide a high quality service to existing and target clients
