Assistant Client Accountant

They acquired the business of another Gibraltar licensed firm 12 months ago and is currently going through an exciting phase of development and growth.

They are looking to recruit an assistant client accountant to join their External Finance Team and who will take on the primary responsibility of looking after the outsourced back office of these two companies. Additionally, the role is to run and process client payroll portfolio. The successful candidate will be an efficient and proficient bookkeeper and well versed in maintaining all primary ledgers and key reconciliations. It would be helpful if the candidate was comfortable with local banking platforms and payroll processing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To administer the back-office finance function
  • To administer the client payroll portfolio
  • Completion of Key Reconciliations including bank reconciliations, loan reconciliations and Reconciliations of disbursement and client accounts. In particular it is a key responsibility to account for, control and reconcile the lettings business client account on a daily basis.
  • All areas of Bookkeeping including entering financial transactions into the internal databases, making daily payments and reconciling invoices.
  • Processing of client payments on EQ and Gib Bank online portal as well as other banking online portals.
  • Liaising with all departments on finance related matters and assisting client handlers with finance queries where required.
  • Maintaining payroll processing system records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data onto our payroll system.
  • Ensuring calculation of salary reductions are accurate and answering any staff queries regarding wages, attendance, and holiday.
  • Assisting the accounting team with any other functions.
  • Ad – Hoc finance and administration tasks

Candidate requirements:

  • Part qualified (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • Financial services background
  • Payroll and online banking platforms
